Alternate Certificate: Music Teacher All Grades (Transitional B)

In partnership with a variety of local and national organizations, the School of Education offers an Alternative Certification in Music Education to prepare candidates to teach students of diverse backgrounds, abilities and interests. This program was specifically designed for candidates seeking an alternative route to certification in Music Pre K-12 who have a bachelor's degree in music, music education or the equivalent. Our programs offer participants the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in schools while enrolled in graduate coursework at Hunter College. The Music Education programs are run jointly by the Music Department and by the School of Education.
