Substance Abuse and Alcoholism and Social Welfare Policy

This Social Welfare Policy II course provides students with the orienting knowledge and skills needed to examine the dynamics between social welfare policies and substance abuse within the context of social service delivery and social work practice. It places the use of psychoactive substances in this society within historical, theoretical and ideological frameworks relevant to the practice of the social welfare profession.
