Orientation to Psychosocial Oncology explores research and practice issues in psychosocial oncology through guided independent study and presentations. Issues in psychosocial oncology such as adjustment to disease stress and coping, impact on family and caregivers, survivorship, palliative care, health care disparities, grief and loss, and other related topics will be addressed. This course focuses on furthering students’ understanding of social determinants of health as well as the relationship amongst physical and mental health.
