This is the fourth course in a series of eleven sequential nurse anesthesia courses designed to provide the Nurse Anesthesia/Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner student with in-depth knowledge and skills of nurse anesthesia care for a variety of common problems and conditions across anesthesia and surgical specializations. Concepts include assessment, techniques, planning and pharmacologic interventions for specialty surgical procedures in a highly structured and guided clinical learning environment. Culturally sensitive, patient centric, interprofessional anesthesia care across the lifespan is emphasized. Through simulation, students will demonstrate competence in the use of anesthesia equipment and technology. Students will demonstrate competence in providing anesthesia care for routine and specialty surgical procedures in a highly structured and guided clinical learning environment.
